Privacy policy

Effective 7 November 2026. This policy covers Rotation Pro for Android (package com.chrispro.rotation), published by ChrisProTech, and this website. Questions or privacy requests: [email protected].

What stays on your device

While rotation assistance is enabled, the app uses device orientation, available hinge/posture sensors, display state and app lifecycle metadata (package/activity names and lifecycle timestamps) to recognise the current app and decide which rotation controls to offer. It does not read screen text, images, video, keystrokes, messages or accessibility content. Foreground metadata is held in process memory for the current context; Rotation Pro does not save an app-visit history or upload this metadata to ChrisProTech.

Local settings and trial

Private app storage contains your preferences, explicit app/package rules, trial timing/checkpoints, purchase-entitlement/retry flags and a journal of system rotation settings needed for restoration. The seven-day trial starts on first opening, is local to the installation, and has no account or automatic charge. App data backup/transfer is disabled in the manifest. The app does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone or your media library. App labels/icons are read locally to help you choose a rule.

Permissions and background operation

Usage Access lets the app inspect app lifecycle metadata. Display over other apps lets it show the popup and optional force-request window. Modify system settings lets it change user rotation and auto-rotate. A foreground service keeps user-enabled assistance working while other apps are open; it can be stopped from the app or notification. Optional notifications provide rotation/stop controls. Optional battery settings may improve continuity. Reboot start is opt-in. Android grants broader Usage Access than the limited lifecycle metadata the app uses. Revoke special access in Android Settings whenever you choose; required-access revocation stops assistance.

Google Play purchases and billing diagnostics

Optional Pro purchases use Google Play Billing Library 9.1.0. Google handles payment under its terms and privacy policy. Rotation Pro receives product information, purchase state, signed purchase data and tokens to verify, acknowledge and restore the unlock. Purchase payloads/tokens are processed in memory; local ownership and retry flags are stored. The app does not receive payment-card details or upload your app rules or orientation readings to a developer purchase server. Google’s billing components can send Google technical billing diagnostics, including app/device information and operation/error details, for billing operation and reliability. ChrisProTech may see order/transaction information made available in Play Console. Purchase and diagnostic records held by Google follow Google’s retention and account controls. Internet/network permissions support billing. Core rotation does not need a developer-server connection.

Settings export and import

Pro backup uses Android’s file picker to save or open a JSON file containing preferences and explicit app/package rules. Purchase/trial state, enabled state, permission/setup state and the recovery journal are excluded. The file goes to the destination you choose, which may be a cloud document provider. That provider handles the file under its own terms. ChrisProTech does not receive it automatically. You control exported files and should delete them from that destination when no longer needed.

Support and the website

If you email support, ChrisProTech receives the address and information you choose to send, uses them to answer your request, and keeps them only as reasonably needed for support, security and applicable record-keeping duties. Avoid sending personal screen content; remove private details from screenshots or logs. This site adds no advertising or analytics scripts, tracking pixels or sign-up database. It is hosted on ChrisProTech's web-hosting infrastructure; hosting and network providers process ordinary request/connection data, such as IP address and browser information, to deliver and secure the site. Their own policies and retention apply. Email opens in your mail app; no message is sent automatically.

Sharing, sale and security

ChrisProTech does not sell personal data, add an advertising SDK, or send rotation/app-lifecycle data to analytics services. Google processes billing information and diagnostics as described above; your chosen document/email providers process information you send to them. App settings use Android private storage and billing communications use the Google Play/SDK transport. No security method can promise absolute protection. No independent privacy/security certification is claimed.

Deletion and your choices

Turn Rotation Pro off before clearing app data or uninstalling so it can restore the system settings it still owns. Clearing storage or uninstalling removes private local preferences, rules and trial state. Delete exported backups through the storage provider you selected. The app has no Rotation Pro account to delete. For support records held by ChrisProTech, email the contact above; we will handle access, correction or deletion requests subject to applicable legal obligations. Children and updates

Rotation Pro is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. No child account/profile is requested.
